Our story
Between the two of us, we've spent decades working in tech. Ryan as a UX designer, Andie as a developer. Meaningful work, but work whose outcomes often lived on a screen and could disappear with a software update.
Alongside it, there was always something else. Ryan in the workshop, Andie at the sewing machine (or knitting, or crocheting). A pull towards natural materials and making things that was grounding and quietly satisfying.
Over the years our passion grew as we invested in courses, magazine subscriptions, endless hours of YouTube videos and long days in the workshop. The more we learnt, the more we loved it, and the clearer it became that this was the direction we wanted to go. When the opportunity came to step away from tech, we wanted to see if we could make what we love doing into a life.
Today we design and make wooden homewares and furniture from our garage studio in the south of Sydney. Everything we make starts as an original design, shaped and finished by hand from timbers thoughtfully selected for the project. We're drawn to woodcraft because we believe the things you live with every day should be useful, unique and beautiful. That's what Casa Verderio is about. Bringing craft back into everyday life, one piece at a time.
